Pendant-Blue Opalized Wood

This handcrafted, simply set, pendant holds a beautiful Blue Opalized Wood stone.  The colors in this stone are striking, so extra embellishments weren't necessary.  The .999 Fine silver plate that backs the stone has a slight texturing and a decorative Sterling bail.  It comes with an 18" Sterling silver chain, but also looks great on the wire wrap neck cuff (sold separately).
 
About the stone:  Opalized wood is a type of petrified wood that is composed of opal rather than chalcedony or another mineral material. It almost always consists of common opal, without play-of-color. Blue Opal Displaced Petrified Wood was first found near the slopes of volcanoes in the West Java Provence in Indonesia. Approximately 20 million years old. The source deposit is located on steep slopes of Mt Tjikolak.
