Silver Necklace - Copper Sheen Obsidian

This necklace is simple but elegant! The round piece of Copper Sheen Obsidian is a beautiful stone.  The copper effects in the stone shine nicely when the light hits them.  The bezel is an ornate sterling silver gallery wire that adds a fancy touch to the piece.  It hangs from a sterling 16” chain with a decorative toggle clasp.
 
About the stone: Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass. This glassy, lustrous mineral is found in lava flows. Obsidian is produced when lava cools very quickly. The lava cools so quickly that no crystals can form.  It may contain patterns of gas bubbles remaining from the lava flow, aligned along layers created as the molten rock was flowing before being cooled. These bubbles can produce interesting effects such as a gold, silver or copper sheen.
